Razor Baby came together when bleary-eyed friends Dan Miller and Chris Jones laid down a demo in Dan Miller's apartment recording studio in the Summer of 1999. Adding James Focht and Justin Cox to the smoke – induced mix, the embryonic state of Friendly Psychics Music was born.

The group began production on the concept album Amplitude Modulation, an experiment in radio and the static that it causes. After putting together 3 tracks for the Razor Baby project, the band went on hiatus after members Justin Cox and James Focht disappeared on a canoe trip in Xenia, Ohio. Distortion, paranoia, and gun powder were all they left behind.

Dan Miller continues to hold out hope that Cox and Focht will one day turn up, preferably alive and with all their teeth. A reward has been set at $4.20 for any information leading to their whereabouts. Please contact the Montgomery County Special Investigations Unit with any information.
